This is a reply I mailed to one of the mailing lists I
subscribe to in an attempt to throw a positive light on the
seemingly inevitable "friction" that develops when
opposing views collide. It is meant to be somewhat humerous,
lucid and insightful -- all at the same time. I did receive
appreciative replies from some, so thought I would share it for
what it is worth. It portrays the positive side of thought
conflict and the downside of total agreement.

Welcome to my worst nightmare
It always begins the same - all day long EVERYONE has agreed
with me on everything!
The realization of this is terrifying for me. No longer am I a
unique individual living within my own reality, my world has been
invaded by all those agreeable. They have inexplicably abrogated
their most precious right to have a reality of their own.
Agreement is certain apathy, apathy is certain atrophy,
atrophy is certain zombism.
Our collective goose is cooked.
Their eyes peer out at what used to be my world. They have
invaded my world and now see what only I should see. My mind is
useless to me now. Paradise is truly doomsday.
Thought conflict and disagreement is the engine for our
unending adventure, development, enlightenment and self reality.
Dear friend - Please do not agree with me. Please, O please do
not. I want to be me again.
